What was your favorite childhood song or lullaby?

Posted on Feb 1st, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 24, 2009:

Johannes Brahms' Wiegenlied: Guten Abend, gute Nacht, Op. 49, No. 4. (Published in 1868.) is one of my favorite lullaby songs.  First I heard it from a tape via Chinese version.  Over the years, I do have good memories with this lullaby.  For more information about this lullaby: Brahms' Lullaby.

Somedays, yes.  Somedays, I rather not when times are in rough waters.

What would you like to come back as?

Posted on Feb 11th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 06, 2009:

Do I have a choice?  If I do, I have quite a few ideas as to what I would like to come as:
a tiger, wolf, penguin, polar bear, or monkey.  At the end, I choose to be a penguin because I like the cold and the seafood supplies.  Though nowadays the North Pole is warming up.  The Antarctica is not a suitable place for penguins to locate in.  I guess I would be living in Canada and be living in the captivity.  Would I?

Kelly Clarkson - Because Of You: Video

This song above is worth a listen to its lyrics.
I Believe In You (Lion King)

The second song also has to do with its lyrics.
I surprised myself by not picking Abba because there were no one specific songs I can pinpoint out on quite yet.

What has been a recurring theme over the past few months?

Posted on Feb 13th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 12, 2009:

PAIN has been a recurring theme for the past few months as I am dealing with physical aliments- Lumber disc disease and the stress associated with that.
What allows us, as human beings, to psychologically survive life on earth, with all of its pain, drama, and challenges, is a sense of purpose and meaning.

I know when I am in the right path when I follow my instincts and my own heart.  I know when I sweat and feel the accomplishment is soon near my reach.

Perseverance

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 17, 2009:

Perseverance: Steady persistence in adhering to a course of action, a belief, or a purpose; steadfastness.
diligence, hard work
"perseverance." Antonyms. Answers Corporation, 2008. Answers.com 18 Feb. 2009. http://www.answers.com/topic/perseverance

Throughout these difficult economic woes, people trend to get discouraged, depressed or all together, give up.  Therefore, perseverance is very important, along with another term: positivity.  Even I am getting weary of the news headlines that I see everyday about economy and people commit themselves to crime.  It can be extremely difficult to avoid news in this technological age, unless you live in isolation or in the wooded or in the frosted cold.  Or you choose very hard to isolate yourself without the bad news.  Meanwhile, if we do have to live with these constant bombardments of sad news, we need to be perseverant, optimistic, realistic, and hopeful.

What will you never regret?

Posted on Feb 19th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 19, 2009:

Being myself

A quote to live by:
"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue.  Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them.  And the point is, to live everything.  Live the questions now.  Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer. Futon

First choice= Futon that can expand and
Second choice= bed because it can only allow you to lay down.
Otherwise I would have gone to a cave instead.

What's the last thing that made no sense to you?

Posted on Feb 23rd, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 23, 2009:

The last time when I went to college- in Canada, we call University, I did a number of thesis or so called abstract.  I did not understand so much what they were even though these terms were explained over and over again.  I wrote too much or way off base.  At some point or other, I would write off topic or something.  I would not really grasp upon on art theories such as: what is Dada or conceptual arts.  Another course that I took baffled me was my directing course, it was because I needed to do a schedule, that I got, but what I did not get was each of the scenes were needed to be dissected into parts to be analyzed, put into columns, and look as a part.  I believed I was baffled with different styles of learning until I knew I have Asperger.
I do hope I can continue on the conversation on a later date.

What kind of angel would you want to be?

Posted on Feb 24th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 24, 2009:

I find that there is an angel within ourselves, whatever we may reveal ourselves as.
The one I most liked: Archangel Michael, in Doreen Virtue terms: the angel of courage, peace and protection.  Though, if we do need to define in religious terms: archangel prominent in Christian, Jewish, and Muslim traditions. In the Bible and early Jewish literature, Michael is one of the angels of God's presence. He is depicted as a warrior-prince leading the celestial armies against wicked forces and as Israel's guardian angel. The intermediary between God and Moses on Mt. Sinai, Michael also confronts the devil over Moses' right of proper burial. In Christian tradition he is the angel with the sword. Michael is venerated in the Roman Catholic and Eastern churches. His feast (jointly with the other archangels) is Michaelmas, Sept. 29; it is the anniversary of the dedication of a Roman basilica to him. On May 8 he is honored for his apparition (492?) on Monte Gargano, Italy. He is supposed to have appeared to Joan of Arc and on the site of Mont-Saint-Michel.
Archangel Michael is not who I would like to be, rather his characteristics are admirable and good to aim for.  There are other archangels that are worth looking at: Raphael, Ariel, Gabriel, and there are always more.
Italics are from: "Michael." The Columbia Encyclopedia, Sixth Edition. 2008. Encyclopedia.com. 25 Feb. 2009- http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1E1-Michael-ang.html
