In a few days, UN and the world all over like I as a woman will be celebrating International Women's Day(since 1975).  I believe one of the effective tools now are on the Internet.  YouTube will be a good place to start.  There are also some references that you would like to check out.

Share the story of your life, using only six words.

Posted on Mar 2nd, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for February 27, 2009:

It took me a while to find only six words to summarize my life.  Instead of using such words as: I, you, we, love, family, woman...Here are my meaningful six words from a quote which I like:
Study the past if you would divine the future- Confucius
Wikiquote: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Confucius, March 3, 2009
Ooops, maybe its not six words, its 9 words, but the keywords are less.

175 Years of Toronto, Canada

Posted on Mar 21st, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
Update: PBS in New York-- WNED had a premiere on 175 years of Toronto, do hope they have it broadcast or on DVD at some point.
Lots of readers like my entry about Guide to Canada, my thought is why not my favorite things in Toronto.  In one local paper, Toronto Star, they have 175 reasons to love Toronto.  I really will not try to list 175 things that I love about Toronto.  Before I go on to the blurb, I shall let you in that it is Toronto's 175 years of being a city.
More about City of Toronto
1. Public transportation access(TTC)
2. CN Tower
3. Various theatre/musical productions from everywhere- US, UK, local
4. Lots of shopping malls(especially Eaton Centre), of course it could be bad too.
5. Hockey (Air Canada Centre) and kids hockey leagues.
6. The rainbow village at Church Street, it is just very colourful & more shopping, could be yikes too at times.
7. St. Lawerence Market.
8. Multiculturism, (I could not think of a better way to say ?)
9. Bookstores from used to new, (some from blogTO, BMV books, Book City)
10. Variety choices of green food, groceries or shopping to choose from(some may say I am living beyond my means, but note, I do find articles on how to live economically- on being green.)

What motivates you most?

Oh my goodness, there are quite a number of things that motivates me.  I think it varies from day to day basis.  One thing I am happy to know that I am alive each day even at the days that I do feel slumplish or facing streeses.  I am allowed to wake up at the wrong side of my bed.  I have a relatively sound mind to get me through the days.  Therefore, a few items would not be too much to ask to get motivated!

What was the first thought that crossed your mind this morning?

I was awake with a deep dream, thinking to myself, is it another good idea for a good fictional story?  I wish now I remember a tad bit more about what the dream was about expect its genre was science.

What is so terrible about fear?

Posted on Mar 11th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 10, 2009:

There is a time to take counsel of your fears, and there is a time to never listen to any fear.  ~George S. Patton

I could not say in one time or the other I am/was not fearful in my lifetime thus far.  Change and stability can be wrapped into fear if these are not well attended to.  Although change and stability can happen at the same time, these can be a very mysterious in nature, which can cause fear.  I do not know yet of anyone in my life that is/was not fearful once in their lives.  Fear is what makes a life livable, we would not make unnecessary risks, I hope.  Fear can be a barrier to continue on in one's life if not utilized with hope.

Housecleaning-- the seasonal kind

Posted on Mar 12th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
Does anyone or families you know have trouble cleaning parts or the whole house?  I am a pack rat and its forever to well, unpack my rat and seasonal clean every season.  Motivation is one of the problems, any tips besides doing piece by piece and doing all in one breath?

What message does your highest self have for you?

Achievement of your happiness is the only moral purpose of your life, and that happiness, not pain or mindless self-indulgence, is the proof of your moral integrity, since it is the proof and the result of your loyalty to the achievement of your values.
Ayn Rand
This quote was through my other QaR platform about RIP.  Is that ironic?

What message does your highest self have for the world?

Posted on Mar 18th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 18, 2009:

Message: I rather have more questions then answers to the world.  Its to have a more critical thinking and analytical skills in our modern life.  We are losing our way of having common sense and we are becoming more radical or stubborn or against one another. Could we put less foot on our mouth and brain in our processes?  I must be wishing upon the stars now!

Loss

Posted on Mar 19th, 2009 by rugged_gurl1 : The Virtue of Many Things In Life rugged_gurl1

When children, especially teenage children lost one of their parents due to tragic circumstances such as Michael and Daniel Neeson, Natasha Richardson's sons are now grieving of her passing, we could not imagine how kids can cope with the loss one of their parent.  When Price William said in one interview recently: “Losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences that anyone can endure,”  “Never being able to say the word ‘mummy’ again in your life sounds like a small thing… However, for many, including me, it’s now really just a word - hollow and evoking memories.”  Somehow these words now can be very difficult for the Richardson, Neeson and Redgrave's families.   I find myself almost daily, even though I find myself my thoughts would be with my parents, not just my mum, with my dad too.  It is important to know how precious mum or dad are.  Life are so fragile, yet moments are tender and at times could be annoying, but finding a place in your heart to unconditionally to love them is all we can do as children no matter what your age is.
