What is the difference between wants and needs?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 20, 2009:
wants and needs are very similar but yet very different at the same time. in terms of love, it can get very hazy. you want love. you need love. those are the two things. but one is defined as: i really desire love. one is defined as: required wanted. these two words sounds so interchangeable. these two are not. you need to realize that love can only be have it if you really work hard for it! therefore its a want! a need is like something like food, shelter, water, health, emotional health....
love is also a need in an emotional level, yet very complex!
